Ito Bisono calls to expel unlawful illegal alliens
The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Víctor Bisonó, said that foreigners who are in the Dominican Republic must comply with the Constitution or else they must go to their country of origin or to others nations that are claiming them.
“Whoever comes to the Dominican Republic has to respect the Constitution, the law and the statutes that have conglomerated our religion, culture and dynamics, if not, they should not come, they should stay in their country or if we help them, they should go to another country, because it seems that there is another country that is demanding that they be sent to them”, said the official in reference to the recent decree that seeks to prevent and persecute invaders.
The statements were offered when he was approached by members of the press during the Tenth National Congress of the Federation of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of the Dominican Republic (Fenacerd), which takes place at the Barceló hotel in this capital.
He added that “where there is a violation of the right to property and also a person who is illegal, the least a responsible State can do is take measures and protect the citizen who has his right to property and the who is violating the law will have the due consequences”, he said while continuing to express his position.
“We are going to make it easier for them (illegals) first, that those who cannot be complying with the constitution and the laws do not come and then those who do not want to be here to go to their country or to the country that is claiming them”, expressed emphatically.
Presidencial decree
President Luis Abinader ordered measures to prevent and prosecute illegal invasions and occupations of private property and the State, and in the case of foreigners who are prosecuted and expelled from the country.
“The Minister of the Interior and Police and the Director General of the National Police are instructed to proceed, within the framework of due process and in accordance with the law, with the persecution and submission to justice of those foreigners who participate in illegal occupations of land of private property or property of the State” establishes article 2 of decree 668-22.
It indicates that foreigners repatriated for this crime will not be able to return to the country, for which action the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Directorate of Migration must also intervene.
