Dominican Republic reaches 1M people vaccinated against COVID-19
The Ministry of Public Health reported this Thursday that the Dominican Republic reached one million vaccinated against COVID-19 as of March 31.
The institution indicated that 101,528 people have already received their second dose.
Some 803 vaccination centers, scattered throughout the national territory, continue to develop the vaccination process against COVID-19 during Holy Week.
The Minister of Health, Daniel Rivera, urged those who have their second dose scheduled to apply it on the date established on their vaccination card, regardless of whether it is a non-working day due to the Easter holiday.
Public Health called on the Dominican people to maintain the protocols on mask use, hand washing, and social distancing, comply with the curfew between April 2nd and the 4th and keep respect the provisions of the Executive Power regarding the prohibition of the sale of alcohol.
The National Vaccination Plan against the COVID-19 pandemic was launched on February 15 and vaccinations began on February 16th.
Numbers on the low
The daily positivity of coronavirus remains down in the Dominican Republic, reaching 9.69%, as reported by the Ministry of Public Health.
The entity also reported 364 new cases of the disease in the last 24 hours.
According to official data, the positivity in the last four weeks has been 10.67%.
In its bulletin number 372, which indicates that 5,821 samples were processed, the health authorities expressed today that in the last 24 hours three deaths have been reported, but that none occurred during that period.
