Public Health notifies five deaths and 283 new COVID-19 infections
The Ministry of Public Health notified five deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, for a total of 3,985 deaths since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through bulletin 515, the authorities reported another 283 infections, therefore, the total number of cases rose to 346,459. Public Health also indicated that to date 6,126 people are affected by the disease.
He adds that 10,164 samples were processed for the detection of the virus and 4,542 correspondings to infected patients. The total number of samples is 1,906,552.
The authorities indicate that the daily and last four weeks’ positivity rates are 2.78% and 6.05%, respectively. The fatality rate continues at 1.15%.
Regarding hospital occupancy, they report that of 519 enabled ventilators, 88 are used. Likewise, of 608 ICU beds installed, 143 are full, while of 2,604 COVID-19 beds arranged, 486 are in use.
Until August 14th, the country has administered 10,652,029 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19, of which 4,461,013 correspond to a second dose.
