Dominican Republic becomes a partner of the Global Entry program

Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez announced that the Dominican Republic became a partner of the Global Entry program of the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which facilitates the entry of Dominicans to the States. Joined.
Álvarez explained that with this step, Dominicans with visas will be able to request entry online and then they will easily enter using the inspection kiosks without having to wait in line.
He affirmed that all those who comply will become reliable travelers with facilities that do not have to wait in lines.
The Dominican Republic thus becomes the 16th country to be part of Global Entry and the sixth in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Chancellor said that this achievement is the result of a job that the government has done with the collaboration of public servants such as the director of Customs, who managed to integrate the State databases required to enter the program.
President Luis Abinader thanked President Joe Biden and assured that this decision is a sign of the good relations that the country maintains with the United States.
“I want to start by thanking President Biden and his government for this distinction they make to the Dominican Republic,” said the president.
He explained that the agreement includes some 77 airports in the North American country and affirmed that in this way new opportunities are opened to strengthen ties between the two nations.
Global Entry is a program of the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which allows an expedited admission process for pre-approved low-risk travelers upon arrival at one of the ports of entry. entrance of the North American country.
