Winter storm Gail forces suspension of flights from Santo Domingo to New York
Ten flights from Santo Domingo to New York were forced to suspend amid winter storm Gail, which will affect the East Coast on December 16th.
The flights canceled from the Las Americas International Airport (AILA) were also scheduled to take off during the first hours of the day to Boston and Newark.
Four outbound flights to John F. Kennedy and Logan airports were canceled. The aircrafts will spend the night on the ramps of the AILA until the storm described by the authorities of the city of New York “as the worst in the last three years” dissipates.
Likewise, it was reported that three flights from New Jersey and New York were also canceled, composed of thousands of Dominicans who booked to spend the Christmas holidays in the Dominican Republic.
Departing from the Dominican Republic to the United States, flight numbers 2110 830,1310,2830, and 310 were canceled, while for arrivals to Santo Domingo numbers 503,1149,609,409,1009 are canceled.
