Tourism personnel begins mass vaccination against COVID-19
The Dominican Republic began the mass vaccination against COVID-19 for people who work in the tourism sector.
According to David Collado, Minister of Tourism, inoculation begins with the front-line personnel of the sector.
Collado affirmed that tourism in the country continues to “grow in a strong, sustained and stable manner” and reported that it is among the top five search engines on the internet for reservations.
The official highlighted the sanitary measures that are implemented in this sector, which is managed with a different protocol from the rest.
He said that the low positivity in airports and hotels “shows that tourism, in a responsible way, has been well managed”.
Meanwhile, Vice President Raquel Peña indicated that the government seeks with the measure, given by President Luis Abinader, to have “COVID-19 free” tourist places, to continue opening and receiving more tourists.
“The Dominican Republic has become a benchmark in the region, of good management of health protocols and good management of tourism”, she said.
“Every day we are going to continue working to guarantee the safety of all tourists who enter the Dominican Republic,” said Peña.
