Miches receives millions of dollars in tourism investment
President Luis Abinader led the presentation of Promiches, an initiative that seeks the definitive takeoff of tourism in Miches with an investment of more than one billion dollars.
The ambitious project contemplates the construction of 4,551 hotel and residential rooms, unites leading businessmen from the tourism sector, both local and foreign, to turn Miches into a prosperous and sustainable destination.
During the construction process, more than 9,000 direct and indirect jobs and approximately 5,000 new jobs will be generated, at the time all the projects are operating.
The president guaranteed that the government is committed to providing the public services necessary to transform this town into an example of an alliance for development.
He appreciated that Miches is home to, without a doubt, one of the most impressive natural beauties in the country, with immense potential for untapped development that has postponed the development of many Dominican men and women.
“How long has it been and Miches was forgotten? But this is going to change, now and forever”, said President Abinader.
He stated that there are no more excuses for Miches, “they start with what I am sure will be one of the best tourist alliances of the Government”.
He thanked each of the businessmen, who through Promiches, are willing to use their entrepreneurial skills, experience, financial resources, and contacts, confidence in the commitment to start a new change in favor of all Dominicans.
He said that, along with the Pedernales and Bergantín initiatives, Miches’ tourism development is part of a tourism diversification strategy.
They are based on the principle of conservation, the attraction of foreign investment, the increase in the added value of tourists, but, above all, the creation of employment and population mobility.
“This sector is based on our current strengths, both in our natural and human wealth, in our joy, service, hard work, and the desire to progress of all Dominicans,” said the president.
He considered that the country needs to better tell its story and that only by showing what we are, what we have, and what we want as a nation, all together hand in hand, will it be possible to tell a credible story that infects and invites others to be part of this great transformation.
Promiches businessmen thanked President Abinader, Tourism Minister David Collado, and the other officials present for their support and commitment, highlighting the importance of initiating such an important tourism development based on planning and a joint vision.
