Ministry of Tourism authorizes the construction of 32,000 rooms
The Planning and Projects Directorate (DPP) of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic (MITUR) approved, during the first quarter of 2021, the construction of 32,000 hotel rooms, reports Infotur Dominicana.
The new rooms are located at the municipalities of Miches, one of the destinations, together with Puerto Plata and Pedernales, which the Dominican government of the Caribbean country has proposed to promote. The province of El Seibo leads the ranking with 27,072 rooms that have been approved.
Also, in La Altagracia, a province with the greatest tourist development in the country with Punta Cana, Bávaro, and Bayahíbe, where 4,258 rooms are approved.
San Pedro (353), National District (300), La Romana (251), and Puerto Plata (182) are added.
These are approvals that respond to requests submitted in 2019 and 2020.
