First Madrid-Santiago flight arrives at Cibao Airport

The afternoon of this Saturday arrived at the Cibao International Airport, the first transatlantic flight connecting Madrid with Santiago.
The plane successfully landed at the airport at 3 PM, after a nine-hour flight, due to a one-hour delay.
The flight was made possible by the VDT Group, hand in hand with the Plus Ultra airline.
According to Lilian Núñez, CEO of the VDT Group, the plane housed 272 travelers. Also, she highlighted that the December 21 flight is already full, with 298 passengers.
Likewise, she said that they have scheduled two frequencies for these dates, also two back in January.
“Our idea is that this route is maintained at 100 percent on a regular frequency,” she said.
Félix García, President of the airport’s Board of Directors, commented that this makes Santiago a tourist city: “We are not only going to try to get absent Dominicans to arrive, but also encourage foreigners to come to Santiago,” he said.
On the other hand, García pointed out that there was concern about the number of accidents in the journey from Santo Domingo to Santiago: “It is vital for economic health, and also for the health of the person,” he said.
The passengers, who were greeted with typical music, say they had a good experience and recommend the trip.
