Evelop announces new weekly flights to Punta Cana from Spain and Portugal
The Spanish airline Evelop, part of the Ávoris Corporación Empresarial, plans to increase the Madrid-Punta Cana route to five flights a week from this summer.
The company considered the high demand of travelers to the Caribbean country and the effectiveness of the health protocols applied in the Dominican tourism sector.
“The Dominican Republic, as we have been able to verify throughout this week, all the protocols have been very strict and that will be the highest valuation when it comes to selling the product, so we have opted for the inclusion of more flights for this summer”, affirmed Bravo.
He highlighted the effectiveness in the application of the protocols implemented by the authorities and the Ministry of Tourism in response to the pandemic in the tourism sector, in visits to airports, hotel facilities, coastal areas, emblematic monuments, and the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, among other tourist spots.
As of June 2021, the new plans also include the opening of three weekly flights from Portugal, two from Lisbon, and the outstanding novelty of one from Porto with 400-seat aircraft, which endorses the firm commitment of Ávoris Corporación Empresarial by the destination, informed Fernando Bravo, commercial director of the company.

Bravo also valued the opening of the new flights as a step to study other alternatives to integrate the capital Santo Domingo and add other provinces in the Ávoris plans, given the great potential of domestic tourism and natural resources of the Caribbean country, which attracts Spanish tourists.
The Ávoris executive made the announcement while delivering opening remarks during the e-Ticket Training, addressed to the group, on the new digital system for filling in the entry and exit form for passengers by air to and from the Dominican Republic.
The activity, held in one of the rooms of Ambassador Royal A Hideaway in Santo Domingo, was directed by Sarah Sanchís, Director of Intelligence of the Technical Vice Ministry of MITUR.
The participants learned about the different steps to follow in filling out the new digital document when entering and leaving through the main air terminals in the country, and which includes completing the Migratory and Customs Information data, as well as the Form of Public Health and saving the QR Code, among other aspects.
