Public prosecutor opens probe to Don Miguelo amid social media challenge
Santo Domingo. – The public prosecutor began an investigation into a “challenge” of the urban exponent Don Miguelo in which minors participated, reported the prosecutor Olga Diná Llaverías.
“Attention Olga Dina, please review this,” Deputy Attorney General Rosanna Reyes wrote on Twitter to the National Director of Girls, Boys and Adolescents, Olga Diná Llaverías.
The magistrate responded through the same social network: “I can tell you that the Public Ministry is working on the case. And we are going to help stop spreading these images.”
Don Miguelo opened in his social networks a “challenge” for his users to dance the theme “And what was it?” (Y qué fue?, in Spanish), in which some minors participated. These videos are no longer on the artist’s networks.
This generated a heated debate on the broadcasting of images of minors displaying some level of the sensuality not suitable for children or adolescents who have not reached 18 years of age.
In another response to the lawyer Félix Portes, the prosecutor Diná Llaverías commented that “it is a sad reality that many minors live and experience and we cannot see it as someone else’s problem. It is a situation in which we must all get involved. The building of society is everyone’s reality”.
