Dominican National Police neutralizes six gang members

Five individuals died during a shootout with agents of the National Police. While another person who would have been injured by a member of the Army died while he was receiving medical attention.
According to the institution’s preliminary report, the individuals were killed after engaging in an exchange of shots with agents.
The event occurred in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos, Santo Domingo province, at night. The fatalities so far have not been identified and as the day goes by the authorities will give more details.
According to the version of a source close to the event, the sixth person who died was shortly after the shooting in a hospital. The man was mortally wounded supposedly by a member of the Army.
Alleged gang members
The source also reported that it is suspected that among the deceased there are members of an alleged criminal gang named “30/30”, dedicated to extortion, robberies, kidnappings, among other acts of vandalism.
In addition, he said that tools used to commit the crimes such as bulletproof vests and firearms were found at the crime scene.
