TSA audits airport security in Las Américas International
Technicians from the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) audited the access controls and security procedures established at Las Américas International Airport (AILA).
To guarantee airport security, the TSA also periodically conducts inspections and audits of airlines, checkpoints, and access points to international airports where U.S. airlines operate.
The technicians confirmed that the Dominican Republic holds the best standards in the region in respect to its AVSEC security system, regarding the control and access point to the airport terminal.
“We have verified that this country continues to be one of the safest in terms of airport security”, said one of the technical officials of the TSA.
Prior to the inspection, the members of the aforementioned commission had already audited the different North American airlines that carry out regular flights from the country to cities in the United States.
The commission of the United States Transportation Security Administration was headed by Mr. Daniel Aravena, accompanied by Luc Petit, Shawn Lulkin, Elizabeth Cruz, and Natalia Berberi.
