Cruises continue to boost destination Puerto Plata despite low tourism season

Despite the fact that we are in the so-called “low season of the tourism sector”, cruise ships continue to arrive in this Atlantic province every week.
The luxurious vessels arrive at the Amber Cove and Taíno Bay terminals located in the beautiful bays of Maimón and Puerto Plata, where thousands of foreign visitors set foot on Dominican soil.
According to the cruise schedule of the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), in June, a total of 19 cruise ships from different lines arrived at this Puerto Plata destination.
In the report on the arrival of MITUR cruise ships, it is indicated that of the 19 cruise ships that touched the Puerto Plata coast, 11 docked at the Amber Cove terminal in Maimón and 8 arrived at Taíno Bay.
The cruise ships that docked at the Amber Cove terminal in Maimón were: Carnival MardiGras (three times), Carnival Princess and Carnival Legend (both two trips), Carnival Magic and Carnival Freedom (one trip per capita).
While the tourist ships arrived at the Taíno Bay port: MSC Seashore (three times), Norwegian Breakaway (twice), Scarlet Lady (twice) and the Celebrity Infinity.
