Dr. Hector Lopez praises Santo Domingo Wellness Center’s medical advantage
Dr. Hector Lopez, an orthopedic surgeon with a sports medicine fellowship, praised the medical advantage of the Santo Domingo Wellness Center and its team.
Currently the Quality Director of the Dominican Health Tourism Association, a non-profit that works on developing a medical travel industry in the Caribbean country, Dr. Lopez is in charge of traumatology, orthopedics, and sports injuries at the newly open health facility.
“It is a medical advantage to integrate new orthopedic technologies and minimally-invasive procedures with regenerative medicine. Here we have a professional team that handles rehabilitation, training, and that offers a global approach to local and international patients,” said the MD at the event held on February 8th in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Santo Domingo Wellness Center brings together a comprehensive team of specialists in cardiology, regenerative medicine, gynecology, nutrition, sports medicine, and cosmetic surgery.
The center is backed by medical travel leaders Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, president of the Dominican Health Tourism Association, as well as Amelia Reyes and Eduard Gottschalk, president and vice president of AF Comunicacion Estrategica, a public relations firm specialized in the health industry.

Dr. Victor Atallah
Dr. Victor Atallah is a Doctor in Medicine, a Magna Cum Laude, and a postgraduate in cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and interventional cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital (USA).
He is certified by the State of New York, has two licenses in medical processes in Florida and New Jersey, and has completed international examinations such as ECFMG-basic sciences and clinical component, FLEX examination, internal medicine board examination, and nuclear cardiology board examination.
Dr. Victor Atallah is the founder of the first nuclear medicine program of Cedimat and co-author of numerous publications related to his specialty.
. Victor Matos
Dr. Victor Matos received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Ibero-American University in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He completed his fellowship training in cardiovascular anesthesia and critical care medicine at Carlos Arvelo Hospital in Caracas, Venezuela.
His post-fellowship training was at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas and Stonybrook Medical Center in Toronto.
Dr. Matos also holds a Master’s Degree in molecular biology from Las Americas Health Science Center and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in health sciences at Atlantis University.
Dr. Hector Lopez
Doctor in Medicine with postgraduate training in orthopedic surgery from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
His expertise includes:
- Specialization in traumatology and orthopedics.
- Alignment and orientation of lower members.
- Correction of congenital and acquired deformities.
- Quality management of health centers organization for excellence in health quality in Colombia and the Iberoamerican University -UNIBE- in Santo Domingo.
- Diploma in healthcare management at UNIBE-Florida International University.
Dr. Lopez has fellowships at Hato Rey Orthopedics Associates, Children’s Orthopedic Foundation (reconstructive orthopedic surgery), and sports medicine.
He plays a key role at the Dominican Health Tourism Association as their Quality Director.
Dr. Natalia Diaz Lazala
“Dr. Beauty” is a graduate from the School of Medicine at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña, UNPHU.
Upon graduation, she joined the medical staff of Hospiten Bavaro and in charge of Clinic Assist at the Riu Hotels.
She specialized in Aesthetic Medicine and completed her Master’s Degree in aesthetic medicine at the University of the Balearic Islands, in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Dr. Diaz Lazala is an expert in anti-aging medicine from the University of Seville, Spain.
He participated in the 7th Annual Transplant 360 Workshop, hair transplant course & FUE hands-on course, in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA.
She has been a columnist for the En Sociedad magazine since 2011.
Juan Carlos Simo
A former military special forces member, Juan Carlos Simo began his career in the ranks motivated, among some of his reasons, by the relationship he perceived from a young age between this trade and physical vitality.
He advised other people informally while he trained and then received a proposal to improve the conditions of a bodybuilder.
After a successful experience, he attracted the clientele that allowed him to start his Workout project that has been around for more than 11 years.
Workout is a gym that emerged with the concept of personalized training so that each client can achieve their goals with a plan of food and proper training.
Simo studied in the United States, Canada, and Sweden, and obtained 24 certifications, where 18 of which are focused on training aimed at Olympic coaches.
He specializes in functional rehabilitation, nutrition for aesthetic transformation and disease prevention, strength training, and lifestyle transformations.
Dr. Maireline Abreu
She got her degree as a Doctor in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo -UASD-Dominican Republic.
Dr. Maireline Abreus is the only MD in the country specialized in:
- Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy -BHRT- a viable and safe hormonal treatment.
- Monalisa Touch, a tool that effectively and safely treats imperfections of the vagina, but mainly the changes generated by degenerative processes of age, hormonal decline, and structural trauma during

Dr. Abreu also has expertise in laparoscopic and minimally intensive surgery at the Clinical University Hospital of Caracas, Venezuela, and holds a Masters Degree in Gynecology and Cosmetics from Pheani Teaching Institute, Veracruz, Mexico.
Eduardo Mejia
Dr. Eduardo Mejia has vast experience in the harvesting of adipose tissue and bone marrow for stem cell treatments.
He obtained his Doctor of Medicine at UNIBE in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and specialized in general surgery at the Santa Casa de Misericordia Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
For three years, he trained under the renowned Professor Doctor Ivo Pitanguy, at the Holy House of Mercy, obtaining his specialty in Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Mejia is a member of the Dominican Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (SODOCIPRE); the Dominican Medical School; the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS); the Iberoamerican Federation of Plastic Surgery (FILACP); and the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS).

Ileana Montero
Ileana Montero graduated from UNPHU as a school psychologist.
She had a diploma in learning difficulties at UNIBE and participated in several attention-deficit seminars.
Her resume includes certification at the International Literacy Institute Boynton Beach, Fla., and Andover, Boston, and a pre-certification in cognitive-behavioral therapy with Dr. Leslie Sokol of the Beck Institute, in Philadelphia.
Ileana Montero has expertise in the prevention of suicide in teenagers.
At Santo Domingo Wellness Center, she leads the mental health and psychological support department.
Her work experience includes being the school psychologist at New Horizons Bilingual School. She is president of CONSUL3, a company dedicated to guidance and consultancies in educational institutions.
Dr. Jorge Garcia Vincitore
Dr. Garcia’s expertise is in nutrition and regenerative medicine.
He conducts nutritional and anti-aging programs and is an A4M certified board physician.
At the wellness center, he is in charge of genetics and nutritional sensibility.
