Collado is ready to present a plan to relaunch tourism in Bayahibe
The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, told the businessmen of Bayahibe, La Altagracia province, that in 30 days he will present a plan to firmly relaunch that tourist center, which receives more than a million visitors who go to Saona Island and some 200 thousand people who visit La Catalina Island.
Collado provided these details during the meeting he held with the Bayahibe cluster, in order to identify the problems that arise in that tourist area, and determine what can be done to improve conditions, and strengthen this tourist pole for when the world back to normal.
“Today I feel the satisfaction of the duty fulfilled by returning to Bayahibe and remembering that as a congressman and president of the tourism commission in the period 2010 – 2016 we rejected the project already approved by the Senate, which planned to take away the only Blue Flag public beach to this tourist town”.
The official said that he stood up against that project and now they must organize the destination and prepare it for when the world returns to normal it will find it stronger and safer, he said.
Collado emphasized that for the Tourism Cabinet, Bayahibe is a priority, and “above all its reorganization and order”.
In that order, the president of the cluster, Andrés Fernández Méndez, thanked the minister and his team for the visit, while affirming that they will work together.
