Argentine tourist in the DR is discharged by Plaza de la Salud in good health
The Argentine patient Candela Aylen Saccone was discharged after staying twelve days under the medical care of the specialists of the General Hospital of the Plaza de la Salud (HGPS).
When she left the center, she said that she feels good about her health and is very grateful to the medical team.
Dr. Julio Amado Castaños, chairman of the board of the hospital, showed his satisfaction for the work done by the health personnel and the improvement of the patient, who returns to his country in good health.
Candela was under the care of the medical team led by Dr. Patricia del Rosario, coordinator of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit; Dr. Mabel Almonte, pediatric nephrologist; Dr. María Gómez, pediatric neurologist; Richard Medina, a pediatric cardiologist and Lunisol Rivera pediatric endocrinologist, as well as a team of intensive care physicians, first-class nurses and support staff.
The teenager was on vacation with her family and, when they had to return to Argentina, she fainted and was first attended by the medical staff of the hotel.
On June 22nd, she was transferred from Punta Cana to Plaza de la Salud in Santo Domingo, where she was treated for diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious complication of type 1 diabetes in which the body produces excess acids in the blood.
