JetBlue Airways leads passenger flow in the Dominican Republic
Jetblue Airways have transported 2,66 million passengers between January – November 2019, leading the top ten airlines in the Dominican Republic, according to the Civil Aviation Board (JAC).
In the first semester, the airline had transported 1,46 million and the projection is to exceed the 2,70 million passengers from 2018.
American Airlines ranks second with 1,31 million passengers while Delta Airlines sits close at 1.26 million.
Ranking fourth is United Airlines at 836 thousand passengers while the Panamanian Copa Airlines closes the top 5 with 629 thousand passengers.

7- Sunwing Airlines – 502K
8- Spirit Airlines -359K
9- Air Canada – 322K
10- Southwest Airlines – 270K
From Europe, the airline with the highest passenger flow in January -November is Air Europa with 260 thousand passengers, followed by Air France with 236 thousand passengers and then Iberia with 179 thousand.
While from Latin America, the three main airlines with the highest flow, excluding Copa, are: Avianca with 243 thousand, Latam Airlines Peru / Lan Peru with 165 thousand, and Aerorepublica (Copa Airlines Colombia) with 144 thousand passengers.
Support to the Dominican Republic
In July, JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes showed his support to the Dominican Republic by stating that it is a safe destination.
At a meeting with Dominican President Danilo Medina, Hayes reassured JetBlue’s commitment to continue strengthening quality air transportation to and from the Dominican Republic while ratifying its willingness to continue the collaboration on tourism with the country.
The head of state thanked the gesture of Jet Blue’s executive and said that the country will continue to offer what is required for the operations, so the airline continues . “its quality and secure services.”
