Swiss tourist in the Dominican recovers lost money and personal documents
Members of the Specialized Body of Tourist Security (CESTUR) recovered lost money and personal documents that a Swiss tourist lost while vacationing in the Dominican Republic.
Toupance Regine Valerie, 53, called the CESTUR officers and explained that she arrived at the Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) to board the plane back home but forgot a black purse in the back seat of a taxi.
The CESTUR agents received the complaint and started a prompt investigation of the case and were able to contact the taxi driver who transported the tourist from a hotel in Boca Chica to the airport.
After being questioned the taxi driver admitted that the woman certainly left the purse in his vehicle and returned the tourist’s possessions.
The Dominican authorities recovered eight hundred and thirty Swiss francs and seven 100-dollar bills, 25 francs in Swiss coins, and one gold medal equivalent to more than 70 thousand Dominican pesos, which is about 1,400 dollars.
Agents regained the tourists lost credit cards, driver’s licenses, health insurance cards, business cards, and other personal documents and handed them to a friend of Regine Valerie named Mrs. Maclennan at SDQ.
The foreigner who had several weeks of vacation in the country, traveled to New York, on a United Air flight, which left by the International Airport of Las Americas.
