Santo Domingo Airport personnel get vaccine against COVID-19
All members of the Specialized Corps of Airport Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC), stationed at the International Airport of Las Américas, began to receive the vaccine against COVID-19.
The start of the vaccination program at the CESAC headquarters was chaired by the general director of the organization, General of the Aviation Technical Brigade, Carlos Febrillet Rodríguez, who was the first to be vaccinated.
Febrillet Rodríguez said that a vaccination journey is expected in the upcoming days for all national and international airports in the country.
He urged all the personnel of the CESAC to be immunized against the coronavirus because of risks in the work they carry out of frequent physical contact with passengers entering and leaving the country airport terminals.
“I thank the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, for supporting the institution and vaccinating our members”, said General Febrillet Rodríguez after getting the vaccine.
He specified that the immunization of CESAC personnel at the airports contributes to the reactivation of tourism to the Dominican Republic, instilling confidence and security among tourists who visit the country.
“The fact that CESAC members are already immunized against this virus represents confidence and security for foreigners who come on vacation to tour the Dominican Republic”, emphasized the senior military chief.
The personnel of the Specialized Airport Security Corps and Civil Aviation are responsible for the security and protection of airports and for guaranteeing the free transit of foreign and national travelers who enter the country from abroad.
In addition to the CESAC, the extensive vaccination program for the personnel of the military agencies includes the military and civilian personnel of the Ministry of Defense; the Institute of Social Security of the Armed Forces (ISSFFAA); from the Ciudad Tranquila (Quiet City) Task Force (CIUTRAN) and other military agencies.
Also, the soldiers of the Metro Specialized Security Corps (CESMET); the Specialized Body for Tourist Security (CESTUR), the Specialized Body for Port Security (CESEP); the Specialized Body in Fuel Control, and those of the Military and Police Commission of the Ministry of Public Works (COMIPOL).
Likewise, the members of the National Research Department (DNI), the Vocational Schools, the Specialized Corps in Border and Land Security (CESFRONT), the Specialized Corps in Presidential Security (CUSEP), the National Directorate of Control of Drugs (DNCD), and the National Environmental Protection Service.
