Centro Medico Punta Cana presents first emergency plan for Bavaro
On May 22, the Centro Medico Punta Cana – Grupo Rescue became a pioneer in the health sector by presenting its Emergency and Evacuation Plan in the Bavaro – Punta Cana area.
The Emergency and Evacuation Plan is the human planning and organization for the use optimal of the technical means provided. The health center has implemented this plan, aiming at minimizing the possible human or economic consequences that could arise from a catastrophe.
Since February 2018, the center has updated and implemented its Emergency and Evacuation Plan, always focused on the safety of users and collaborators, and obtained a maximum rating of 100% of excellence in international standards with Accreditation Canada last November 2018 where they were rigorously evaluated.
Evacuation is determined in cases of emergencies to the action of removing people from a specific place to avoid damages that could be caused by a possible threat of impact caused by disasters produced by natural origins or not.
Greisy Concepcion, general director of operations of the Grupo Rescue addressed a few words on behalf of it:
“We assume the responsibility that corresponds to us before the possible risks to which they are exposed, both our patients and external users and our collaborators, for which we have defined a management plan which includes the strategies of prevention and protection in emergency situations that we might have to face. This will allow us to strengthen the security of our community and those who visit us, having a positive impact on the guarantee as an exponentially growing tourist destination, such as the area where we are geographically located. It leads us to strengthen this Emergency and Disaster Response Plan by having allied entities, such as the Red Cross, the Veron-Punta Cana Fire Department, and CESTUR, to whom we thank for their involvement.”
Dr. Albida De Leon, the medical director, said, “we have trained medical staff and with academic training continues to guarantee quality care and with the warmth that our community deserves. We work every day to raise the standards of medical response where the community already feels that it is not necessary to move to another place because we live in a safe community.”
Dr. Ana Maria Placido, emergency room doctor, said, “it is important to note that so far we are the first health center in the area, motivated to perform of this type of activity, although internally we keep in constant reinduction on this subject; our goal is to make it known and be able to involve external entities. ”
At the Punta Cana Medical Center, we have the collaboration of various public and private institutions, such as the Provincial Health Directorate, represented by Dr. Mayra Paula, and Dr. Samuel Cueto, CESTUR, Bombero Corps -Veron Punta Cana, Red Cross, Civil Defense, Verón City Council-Punta Cana, Punta Cana International Airport, representatives of the different health centers in the area and members of the press.
In this activity the Grupo Rescue directors attended: such as Greisy Concepcion, general director of operations; Santiago Roca, Quality, Efficiency and Technology Director; Jose Arturo Redondo, administrative director; Albida De Leon, medical director, and Drs. Stefan Mayer and Ana Maria Placido, emergency room doctors.
