Carlos Prato: IMG Punta Cana suceeded at ITB Berlin

The President of IMG Punta Cana, Carlos Prato, considered the participation of the east coast center at the ITB Berlin as a success.
“Punta Cana, New Destination of Health Tourism,” is the title of the presentation given by Prato, in one of the largest trade shows in the world where thousands gather each year.
The executive highlighted the alternatives for those looking for cost-effective and quality medical procedures abroad, specifically in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic’s tourism juggernaut, now adding Health Tourism to the table.
Out of the 30 specialties that IMG Punta Cana holds, the proposal at the ITB Berlin included:
- Plastic Surgery
- Weight Loss Surgery
- Dental
- Orthopedics

Prato praised the presence of Javier García at the stand, who showed his optimism about Punta Cana becoming the center of medical tourism in the Caribbean.
“We are very positive of the results obtained in this tourism fair (…) IMG Punta Cana succeed at ITB Berlin,” said Prato.

When asked about the perspective of Medical Tourism, he said:
“Just as great things have been achieved in the hotel sector in the Dominican Republic, we can also conquer the Medical Tourism sector in the Caribbean, where they can travel to receive multiple medical procedures.
Considering our medical and tourism infrastructure, direct flights to about 90 cities, and most importantly, first-class staff and good equipment,” as noted in local media.
Two years ago, IMG Punta Cana was one of many sponsors at the 3rd International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
It seems like this high-quality and cost-efficient center will continue to participate in these types of events, as a way to keep offering their services to thousands of potential international patients.
