Luis Abinader, among the best valued leaders in Latin America
Seven months after assuming power in the Dominican Republic, President Luis Abinader is among the five highest valued leaders in Latin America, according to Consulta Mitofsky, one of the main social research groups in the region.
Abinader, who is in second place with 77% approval, is only surpassed by Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele (84%). The best five are completed by the Uruguayan Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou (64%), the Mexican Andrés Manuel López Obrador (58%) and the Bolivian Luis Alberto Arce Catacora (55%).
Among the presidents, Abinader and Arce are the ones who have been in government for less than a year. And so much so that Bukele Lacalle and López Obrador have already passed at least one year in office.
Mitofsky’s ranking has few differences with other measurements such as the Legislative Directory Foundation (November 2020) and Real Time Data Corp. (December 2020), which place Bukele, Abinader, and Lacalle, among the first three acceptance places in their respective countries.
