Massimo Manzi: trust and reputation are our biggest challenges
Trust and reputation are the two biggest challenges for Medical Travel in Latin America, according to Massimo Manzi, Executive Director of the Council for the International Promotion of Medicine, PROMED.
During his participation at the 4th International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the Costa Rican expert commented on the importance of communication.
“We need to communicate a bit better what we are doing. Of course, they are going to listen if they see that we are serious,” said Manzi at the event held from September 5-7th at the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino.
He pointed out three instances where patients are purchasing medical services, instead of medical tourism events:
“The experience has been that we need to search where people want to purchase, and I mean insurance events, self-funded companies, and institutional events.
Massimo Mansi on trust and reputation
According to the political scientist, who specialized in International Relations and Diplomacy, trust and reputation are the main elements to develop Medical Travel in Latin America.
“Internationally, I believe that the challenge for all of us is to generate trust and reputation.”
For Manzi, part of the job of generating that trust and reputation is by showing the medical travel that their primary focus is not marketing, rather provide them with quality service.
