Last October United Petroleum launched the first karting contest “In Search of the United Petroleum 2023 driver” which has had a great impact and acceptance among the youth of the Dominican Republic.

From United Petroleum it is a great satisfaction to be able to motivate and change lives in a positive way through sport.

The contest favored the inclusion of young people without experience with the dream of being a pilot who, for whatever reason, had not been able to have this great opportunity.

This call received more than 1,500 entries of both sexes, of which 60 were selected in front of a notary public.

On Sunday, December 11th, the great final event was held at the United Petroleum International Kartodromo – Grupo Alonzo, and after an exciting day, full of adrenaline, 22-year-old Alberony Romero Nuñez from from the province of San Cristóbal, with a record time of 55.3 seconds in the qualifying race.

Which was followed by Ángel Isaac José with a time of 56.1 and Luis Eduardo Peña with 56.6, being classified in second and third place.

The race began with inductions in karting with important representatives of both the sport and United Petroleum, with key information for the introduction into the world of Karting and tools for the correct management of Go Karts that the brand provided them, with relevant topics. What:

• Security implemented by United Petroleum by Isy Rodriguez;
• Road Safety by Anibal Germoso CEO of Accidentes RD, Karting Categories by Jesús Arredondo;
• Experiences of a pilot by Manuel Alejandro Troncoso, both pilots representing United Petroleum;
• Induction to Karting by Dahyam Cabral, Senior T4 Champion in 2021;
• Rules of a race by Francis Cabral, Race Director.

Then, they performed practices and races to qualify in the best time, in which they enjoyed the participation of 50 boys and 10 girls, who gave their best to move on to the qualifying race. The narration was in charge of Aquiles Ramírez.

From the morning, you could feel the excitement of all the young people excited to be able to participate in this event, with the presence of numerous talents who made a wonderful day full of emotions.

Several talents attended, such as Carlos Durán, Roswil Valdez, Milo K, among others, who felt the adrenaline from the track.

Juan Tomás Díaz Infante, CEO of United Petroleum, assured that this has only just begun and that more editions of “In Search of the United Petroleum Pilot” will follow in the coming years and give more young people the opportunity in this incredible world of karting.

Today, United Petroleum marks a milestone in this sport on a national level.
