Estrellas maintain great dominance over the Escogido

The relay of the Estrellas, led by Ronel Blanco, contained this Sunday the offensive of the Leones del Escogido in just two hits to win the 4-1 victory in a game held at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium in this city.
Blanco was the “Star Player” of the Stars by pitching the ninth inning with three strikeouts and a ticket for his first save of the 2022-2023 autumn-winter tournament, dedicated to the memory of Don Tomás Troncoso, as an option for the Banreservas Cup.
“This is what we needed,” Blanco told the Stars broadcast network after the game. “This is the beginning of many good things for the Estrellas. My mentality is to continue helping the team win,” added the reliever, who had the curveball as his best weapon against the four batters he faced.
The victory allowed the green team to stop a four-game losing streak and come within a game of fourth place, which is held by the Toros del Este, who lost to the Gigantes del Cibao at the Julián Javier Stadium in San Francisco de Macorís.
The victory allowed the Petromacorisan team to increase its advantage in the particular series against the Lions 5-2.
The victory was credited to Jakob Hernández (1-0), who pitched an inning and a third of a strikeout. The setback was for Aneurys Zabala (0-3), after allowing the run of the advantage of the Stars in the seventh episode.
Edward Olivares led the All-Star offense with two RBIs, while Rainer Núñez had three hits.
For the scarlets, the imported Robert Neustrom was the best to tow the only race.
For the Stars started Yennsy Díaz, who worked three innings of five hits, one run, one walk and five strikeouts. He was seconded by Franklin Van Gurp (1.1), Luis González (0.2), Dayeison Arias (1.2), Hernández (1.1) and Blanco (1.0).
Meanwhile, Tanner Anderson opened for the Lions, with the work of three episodes of two hits and three transfers. He was replaced by Domingo Tapia (1.0), Jesús Liranzo (1.0), Rhiner Cruz (1.0), Zabala (1.0), Pedro Strop (0.2) and Steven Cruz (0.1).
The Lions were the first to score. In the third inning, Robert Neustrom hit a single that brought Otto Lopez to the rubber from the third.
In the fifth inning, the Stars evened the score on an RBI single by Erick Mejía. Then, in the seventh, the green team took control of the game. Edward Olivares grounded out to third base and third baseman Joseph Rosa made a missed throw to the plate, Gustavo Núñez arriving safely.
In the eighth, the Estrellas came back on the attack with two more runs. Núñez grounded out to second base and López threw the ball badly to the catcher, scoring Emilio Gustave from third base, while the second came from Olivares’ RBI single.
