Carolina Mederos leads the White Marlin fishing tournament

The fishing committee of the Club Náutico de Santo Domingo appointed Carolina Mederos to direct the 2021 edition of the International White Marlin Fishing Tournament.
Mederos, who has the experience of having directed the event to the 2017 blue species, once again thanked the trust placed by the board of directors chaired by Commodore Juan Lehoux Amell, as well as by the fisheries committee under the direction of Wally Heinsen.
“I am infinitely grateful for the appointment and I am pleased to be once again at the helm of a tournament organized by the entity that gave me birth. I learned from my parents and club members how exciting sport fishing is. I hope we can count on a significant number of boats and fishermen to crown our traditional tournament with the usual success”, highlighted Mederos through a press release.
Due to the global pandemic, the tournament could not be held in the 2020 edition, the same happened with the Blue Marlin species. For this year the organizers, keeping the sanitary measures of rigor, have made a program that includes digital registration of participants, data submission, and delivery of results.
The boats will go to sea with the number of fishermen and sailors placed at the established distance and always operating in the open air, which will take place from May 19th to 22nd in the Cabeza de Toro cove, Higüey.
Along with Carolina Mederos, the organizing committee is made up of Wally Heinsen, José Luis Núñez, Danny Medina, Horacio Read, Frederich Bergés, all members of the fishing committee.
In the next few days, the details of the fair will be offered, including the participation methodology, participating countries, fishing schedule, presentation of runs, and awards to the winners.
