Al Horford in his best offensive season since 2015-16
Al Horford has been playing better than they have in a long time.
He averages 14.2 points per game, his highest total since his 2015-16 season.
Along with that, he has added 6.8 rebounds. He’s even throwing the 3-ball more than ever, averaging 5.6 attempts per game.
After Horford’s time in Philadelphia, many thought that the great veteran’s career was going downhill.
Horford told Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix it was chemistry for the Sixers.
“We just weren’t hitting it off. We weren’t greasing. And obviously we had a lot of great players in particular playing and it just didn’t fit”.
Horford was a steal in an acquisition from the Thunder last offseason. His role on this young Oklahoma team has been all they needed so far. He has set an example for those younger boys while also teaching them some of the many things he has learned throughout his remarkable career.
Trade to Dallas
As the days approach the NBA trade deadline of March 25th, the Oklahoma City Thunder are faced with more and more questions.
Many are under the impression that Sam Presti and the company will try to be active participants in this trading season as they look to download some of their shocking veteran products such as Trevor Ariza, George Hill, and Al Horford.
Predicting where Horford might end up is one of the biggest difficulties to solve.
Although he is averaging 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 36.4 percent from 3-arc, his remaining two years and 53.5 million remaining on his contract make finding a suitor for the veteran a bit more challenging.
However, in a recent article published by Bleacher Report, they see the Dallas Mavericks as a possible landing site and believe that the trio of Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford could be quite threatening.
