Mark Wahlberg wants to build a house in Cabrera, the Dominican Republic
American movie star Mark Wahlberg announced plans to build a house in Cabrera, a municipality in the María Trinidad Sánchez province, on the north coast of the Caribbean country.
Walhberg was impressed by the beauty of the Dominican Republic, which he publicly acknowledge during his latest visit.
“I came at Christmas and I was in Cabrera, I spent some time in Playa Grande, and bought a piece of land and I’m going to build a house”, said the actor of prestigious films such as “The Departed”, by Martin Scorsese and blockbuster sagas such as “Transformers”.
Cabrera is famous for its paradisiacal views offered by its hills, the fertility of its lands and livestock, for the hospitality and empathy of the locals, and for the day and night activity that it presents, among many other attractions.
Also, is already included as one of the hottest Dominican places visited by celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, who spent some time there after filming Shotgun Wedding.

Wahlberg made these statements during a courtesy visit to the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, at her offices in the Palacio Consistorial, in the Colonial City, where the filming of some scenes from the movie “Arthur The King” takes place, under director Simon Cellan Jones.
“I give you an enthusiastic welcome to this vibrant film destination full of color, joy, and sea”, said the mayor after receiving Wahlberg and the production team of the movie.
Mejía emphasized the importance of the Dominican Republic as an ideal location for filming international productions. “We will continue to position our city as a destination for the film industry and I thank you once again for choosing us”, the mayor told foreign guests.
“Arthur”, which is filmed on stages in Samaná and Santo Domingo, is based on real events that occurred to the Swedish team that participated in the Huairasinchi World Adventure World (Huirasinchi Explorer World Cup) in Ecuador in 2014.
