The actress, producer, and screenwriter, Jane Chaplin, is ready to support the Dominican Republic’s music and culture through films and music, as she has declared herself in love with the Caribbean nation.
Through his great friend Colombian film director Colbert García, she established communication by videoconference with the general producer of the Dominican film project ADN Bachata, Víctor Minaya, with whom she talked about her experience when he visited the Dominican Republic.
“It is a very beautiful country with loving people”, she said and promised to return to Dominican soil to learn to dance bachata music. “It is time for the Dominican Republic to shine in the universal cinematographic firmament, today that its music is danced all over the world”, added Jane Chaplin.
Minaya took the opportunity to explain the objectives and dimensions of the project that aims to take the Dominican cultural identity to unimaginable places where only bachata has arrived and invited Jane to visit the country again and support us by promoting our country’s brand.
“Due to her family roots, it would be interesting for Jane Chaplin to be a kind of Bachata DNA godmother”, said Minaya, to which Jane replied, “Super! Fantastic, my dad must be dancing the bachata in paradise”.
She too stressed that “it is a project that I think is great, dance and music bring people together. In times of covid, a film with a positive message people will love it, you will make a film that will be a global success”.
Also participating in the videoconference were Pedro López, line producer, and Eddy Viola, from the DNA Bachata team
