As part of the efforts to promote the Dominican Republic as an important destination for the cinematographic world, the Cana Dorada Films Festival, an event that takes place in Punta Cana; is present at the 74th edition of the Cannes Film Festival that takes place in France until July 17th.
The director of Cana Dorada, Raquel Flores; its founder, Raquel Bernal, and the prominent actor, Julián Gil, festival ambassador, and special guest of the Chopard brand, walked the red carpet in search of opportunities that favor the seventh art in the Dominican Republic.
The first edition of the Cana Dorada Films Festival was held with resounding success from January 16 to 19, 2020, with a parade of great international film stars, including the presence of the prominent film producer, Avi Lerner, founder and CEO of Millennium Films, creator of successful feature films, such as: “Rambo”, “London under fire”, “The other bodyguard”; in addition, Mark Canton, producer of the series “Power”, the actors Dolph Lundgren, Danny Houston, Fernando Colunga, Paz Vega, Saúl Lisazo, the filmmaker Paul Haggis, among others.
The Cannes Festival seeks to know and support quality works to promote the evolution of cinema, favor the development of the film industry in the world, and project the seventh art internationally.
In the Dominican Republic, the Cana Dorada Film Festival aims to create a bridge between Latin entertainment and the global and Hollywood industry, as a unique opportunity to meet actors, producers, filmmakers, directors, artists, and investors, in order to create new opportunities.
