Alex Rodríguez and Jennifer López officially announce their breakup
After months of many rumors and denials, now Alex Rodríguez and Jennifer López confirmed the end of their relationship, arguing that they are better “as friends” and that they will continue to support each other.
J-Rod, as many nicknamed them, sent a statement to NBC’s TODAY.
“We have realized that we are best friends and we hope to continue being so,” begins the statement released by the couple. “We will continue to work together and support each other in our shared businesses and projects. We wish each other the best for each other and for each other’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thanks to everyone who has sent kind words and support”.
On March 13th, international media that the artist and the former baseball player had finished. However, the couple came out to deny it and claimed that the information about their relationship was exaggerated.
The couple faced certain rumors that the Dominican ex-baseball player had been having video-call conversations with Madison LeCroy, one of the stars of the American reality “Southern Charm”.
At that time, celebrities also broke the silence in a joint statement sent to E! News. “All the reports are incorrect … We are working on some things”, they said.

Alex Rodríguez and Jennifer López met when she was still married to Marc Anthony, the father of her two children. He began his courtship with the baseball star a few years after they separated, in 2017.
They got engaged in 2019 after a two-year relationship, but they postponed their wedding twice, as Lopez revealed last December.
“We had to cancel the wedding … because of covid, because of the quarantine. In fact, we did it twice, but people did not find out”, JLo said at the time.
