Nine hotel projects set to add 20 thousand rooms in Macao
New proposals in the area of Uvero Alto and Macao are set to add more than 20 thousand rooms, given the intense growth in the construction of new hotels that have been developing in the area between Punta Cana and Bávaro.
These projects already have the approval of the Tourism Development Council (Confotur) of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), some dating back to 2017 when they obtained their provisional classifications, the most recent being the Navia Macao Beach project (Master Plan), 5,140 rooms.
Other projects in this area are:
Master Plan Gsm Punta Cana and Hotel Dreams Macao, a Tourist Complex consisting of three hotels, a convention center, commercial area, green areas, and future development of sports facilities, with a total of 2,313 rooms.
Moon Palace Punta Cana with 2,149 rooms.
Similarly, the Selectum World Macao projects, within the Tourist Complex Master Plan, to be developed in stages by Anex Tourism Group, divided into zones with different uses (Hotel, commercial, residential, services, and institutional) that will have a total of 8,120 Bedrooms.
The Hotel Riú República also includes 309 rooms distributed in a four-level building; Cana Rock Star Condos, Real Estate Tourism Project with a total of 653 rooms; Macao Alto II and Ciudad Palace Hotel Complex with a total of 2,153 rooms; and Cana Green, a Real Estate Tourism Project with a total of 60 rooms.
These nine projects together add 20,588 rooms that would be ready in about five years, if current circumstances normalize and contribute equally to the development of the sector international tourist.
