Nasry Michelén Foundation announces first golf tournament in Punta Cana
The Nasry Michelén Foundation announced the first golf tournament at Corales Golf Course of the Punta Cana Resort and Club complex, the only course in the Dominican Republic to host five PGA Tour stops.
The announcement was made through a virtual conference call held with sponsors and players. The technical aspects were offered by Félix Olivo, director of the event.
The activity will begin next Friday, May 27th, with a cycle of conferences in the Convention Hall of the Westin Hotel. In the evening there will be a welcome cocktail on the hotel beach; on Saturday the tournament will take place, simultaneously with an excursion on a catamaran (boat) for companions; and at night will be the awards dinner party.
“We invite Dominican players to participate in this great event that seeks to raise funds to continue the charitable plans of our foundation, in addition to strengthening ties between the professional community in the diaspora and our DR,” says a document from the entity.
For his part, the prestigious doctor in NYC, Rafael Lantigua, Vice Chair of the entity, stated that “the funds generated in the event will be used primarily to grant scholarships to low-income students in the area of health in the Hostos Community College, a noble cause promoted by Dr. Michelén, to which we are giving continuity for the benefit of the most dispossessed”.
Dr. Nasry Michelén was a glory of Dominican medicine in the Big Apple.
