The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, started the work for the reconstruction of the access road to Macao Beach, in Verón Punta Cana, with an investment of about 36 million pesos.
The project, which is carried out through Mitur’s Executing Committee for Infrastructures in Tourist Areas (Ceiztur), consists of upgrading a 1.2 km road along El Macao street, from the Higüey-Macao highway, to the access that leads to the beach, in the municipal district of Verón, Punta Cana.
The Minister of Tourism stated that with this intervention an old claim of the residents of this tourist pole is addressed and said that the work will have a great economic impact among small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.
“For us, the most important thing in small works like this is the impact they have on the people who work here. It is to directly improve their income, which is reflected in a better quality of life for them and their families. That is the human face of Tourism”, she pointed out.
