Mitur redesigns tourist destination Juan Dolio to attract investments
Jacqueline Mora, Technical Vice Minister of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), stated that the Juan Dolio tourist area has been reactivated and its development is expected to continue due to the work being carried out by the Mitur and that will increase its value for investments.
“The destination is being worked on. There are new projects for the construction of rooms that are on the way and that are scheduled in Confotur, “she added.
He explained that the construction of new hotels in Juan Dolio comes hand in hand with the adaptation of the entire area, “since it is very difficult to put a hotel where the treatment plant of the area was not in operation, which was part of what It greatly affected Juan Dolio, as well as the conditions of the beaches».
He emphasized that it is not only meeting the needs of creating hotels to meet the demand for lodging, but that we must emphasize “and it is what we work on from the Ministry with the other entities” in redesigning a destination that costs time and money.
“Definitely, there is the possibility of creating new projects because Juan Dolio is a natural destination for real estate investment and for the MICE segment, what we have to do is take more care of the destination and that is what we are working on to maintain and increase the occupancy that currently it is around 40%”, Mora pointed out.
