Santo Domingo.- Payments from the Employee Solidarity Assistance Fund (FASE) resumed on August 17th, according to sources from the Ministry of Finance.

Last Friday the now former minister of that office, Donald Guerrero, had indicated that the payment orders were issued to carry out the transfers from the National Treasury account.

Sources consulted in the Ministry of Finance indicated that the payments of a group were ordered and it should show in the accounts of the beneficiaries throughout this afternoon.

The subsidy transfers should have been completed on August 7. The Ministry of Finance has not given reasons for the delay in payments.

President Luis Abinader promised during his inauguration speech that he will maintain the payments of the emergency subsidies -FASE, Stay at Home, and Pa´Ti- for the remainder of the year.

These programs were developed by the former administration to help the Dominicans that are currently suspended from their jobs or in need because of the effects of COVID-19.
