Dominican exports reaches 7.3 billion dollars
The executive director of the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), Biviana Riveiro Disla, reported that exports of goods continue to show excellent results, as shown by the volume exported during the period January-July 2022, which reached 7.3 billion dollars.
The official said that exports have experienced a positive growth of 10.8%, compared to the same period in 2021 and 28.2% compared to the pre-pandemic year 2019, according to data from the General Directorate of Customs (DGA).
In monthly terms, exports for July 2022 reached a total of $1.1 billion, showing a year-on-year growth of 10.1% compared to July 2021.
Similarly, this value represents a 23.4% growth compared to July 2019, positioning this July 2022 as the one with the highest value exported in the Dominican Republic.
Markets
Exports to the US market are in first place, with growth to July 2022 of an additional US$314 million, for a year-on-year increase of 9.2%.
This is followed by Haiti with a growth of US$157 million and a variation of 30.2%; and China, Puerto Rico, among others.
