The Government of the United States invited Dominican President Luis Abinader to participate in the IX Summit of the Americas to be held in the week of June 6 to 10, 2022 in the city of Los Angeles, California.

The invitation was made through a letter sent by the White House to the Dominican president dated May 18, 2022.

In the letter, the US government stated that the IX Summit of the Americas will be an opportunity to advance “on the greatest challenges in the region and work together towards our shared goals.”

“It is a pleasure to invite you to Los Angeles, California, from June 8 to 10, 2022 for the IX Summit of the Americas, where the democratically elected Heads of State and Government of the hemisphere will advance our shared goal of Building a Sustainable Future, Resilient and Equitable for our hemisphere”, highlights the first paragraph of the letter.

The White House indicates that during the summit the challenges and opportunities of the region will be addressed.

“This convening of the leaders of our region underscores what unites us as a region: our commitment to the economic prosperity, security, human rights and dignity of the peoples of the Western Hemisphere. Together, in Los Angeles, we will address our greatest challenges and opportunities, including with respect to climate change, health security, and growth and recovery,” he says.

The invitation to President Abinader concludes by saying “I look forward to his participation and welcome him to the beautiful city of Los Angeles this June.”
