Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Public Health, Plutarco Arias, confirmed that as of tomorrow, the 100,000 PCR tests for Covid-19 diagnosis that arrived at Customs last Tuesday will begin to be applied in the country.

Arias added that the samples will be processed at the Doctor Defilló National Laboratory and others.

“We are also going to have united laboratories working; we are opening private laboratories that will be working as of Wednesday”, explained to the minister when approached by journalists.

In addition, he said that besides the private ones there will be four public laboratories working, but for this, they will need a team to extract the sample, which would take around 15 days.

The official indicated that Public Health intends to carry out between 7,000 to 100,000 tests daily.
