Public Health reports 12 deaths and 1,784 new cases of COVID-19
The Ministry of Public Health notified 12 deaths from COVID-19, of which six were registered in the last 24 hours, and reported 1,784 new cases.
According to epidemiological bulletin # 457, the total number of deaths from the virus is 3,754. To date, the nation has 55,027 active cases, out of a total of 315,815 registered, with 257,034 recovered patients and 1,342,410 suspected cases have been discarded.
On the aforementioned report, 10,860 samples were processed, of which 1,784 were positive for SARS COV-2 in the last 24 hours.
Of the processed samples, the Santo Domingo province contributed 288 new cases, the National District 267 and Santiago 109.
Of these processed tests, the report reports that 4,955 of ‘Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and 5,905 of antigen were made.
While the daily positivity is 21.08% percent and in the last four weeks, it is 18.37% percent.
The Hospital Network has 2,665 COVID beds of which 1,342 are occupied, for 50 percent, with 470 beds of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) occupied of the 663 available in the system for patients affected by the disease, which represents 71 percent.
Meanwhile, of a total of 523 system fans, 296 people are connected, for 57 percent.
The lethality is 1.19 percent and the mortality per million inhabitants is 359.29.
Risk groups
The risk groups continue to be in people who present comorbidities, the official statistical document that collects these data indicates that due to hypertension the deaths correspond to 27.20 percent, while due to diabetes, 17.05 percent.
Similarly, it establishes that women in a state of pregnancy affected by the coronavirus are 1,025 to date, health workers 1,166, and those under 20 years of age 34,521.
