Public Health extends the deadline to demand the vaccination card
The Ministry of Public Health made it more flexible and extended until February 21st, the deadline to require the presentation of the vaccination card against Covid-19 with the new third dose scheme in people over 18 years of age, as a preventive measure to consequence of the new variant ómicron.
Through a press release, the Directorate of Communications of the Ministry of Public Health informed the entire population of the postponement of the presentation of the vaccination card or certification with the scheme of having completed their third dose.
The new Resolution Number 0005-2022, introduces changes in paragraphs ll and lll of the Third Article of Resolution 00069 of December 27, 2021, so that from now on it is provided that after a result of Covid-19, as of December 1, 2021, for the application of the third booster dose, you must wait between one and three months.
This Resolution establishes that after the application of a monoclonal antibody drug, a maximum of 90 days must be waited for the application of a dose of the vaccine against Covid-19, and the obligation to apply it is extended until February 21, 2022. present the vaccination card of having completed the main vaccination schedule of three doses against the disease. According to the provisions of article 4 of Resolution 000069 of December 27, 2021.
It was reconfirmed that in exceptional cases, Public Health will grant special permission to people who cannot receive the inoculation for medical reasons, such as pregnant women with less than 16 weeks of gestation.
Likewise, people who after the date have not completed the main vaccination schedule must present a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test, with no more than 7 days of completion. Likewise, the requirement is maintained for adolescents aged 12 and 17, who must also present their vaccination certificate with at least two doses.
With this Public Health Resolution, it accepts the request made by several medical societies, such as the Dominican Medical Association and the Society of Infectious Diseases, the business community and unions that asked the Government and the Ministry of Public Health for an extension in the presentation of the card.
In the last 13 days, more than 275,000 got the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, to comply in their workplaces because of the official provision.
