Minister of Health regrets incident with the medical association

The Minister of Public Health, Daniel Rivera, lamented the incident that occurred this Wednesday morning during the march organized by the Dominican Medical Association (CMD), which had the objective of reaching the National Palace facilities.
Rivera said that, in the government House, with him, were several high-level officials, including the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, and the director of the National Health Service, Mario Lama, with the purpose to receive the doctors and listen to their proposals.
The head of Health recalled that “the authorities are permanently open to dialogue, as has been proven on other occasions, where consensus has allowed the solution of the doctors’ demands”.
After the impasse, Dr. Rivera reiterated the call to the directors of the medical union to continue the conversations, emphasizing that this Government has given clear signals that marches and walks are not necessary to meet with the president and the authorities of the sector, since they have always been received cordially by the president, his ministers and directors.
He added that the claims to improve the country’s health system are fair, but they must be channeled through appropriate channels.
