Government lifts curfew in La Altagracia and the National District

Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader issued Decree 477-21 through which he lifted the curfew in the province of La Altagracia and the National District.
The new decree establishes that this measure will be applied from 5:00 a.m. on August 9th, and from that moment on, there is the mandatory use of masks in public places and private places for public use, as well as other measures and protocols.
Also, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places and private places of public use is prohibited every day from 12:00 midnight to 5:00 in the morning.
The measure establishes that special permits are required for the celebration of activities that involve agglomeration, regardless of the place in question, which will be granted by the authorities of the corresponding sector, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance.
This decree explains that public and private establishments for public use, regardless of the type of activity they sponsor, may receive people only up to 75% of the total capacity of their facilities, always in compliance with current health protocols.
It also indicates that open spaces in the open air, such as parks and boardwalks, may be used by people in compliance with current health protocols.
It is also established that, in the rest of the country, including the Santo Domingo province, the validity of the curfew and the other measures provided in Decrees 419-21 and 432-21 are confirmed.
