Evergo opens an electric vehicle charger in alliance with the public sector
Public company Edesur Dominicana and InterEnergy Systems put into operation the first of a series of Evergo charging stations for electric vehicles, as a result of a strategic alliance to promote sustainable mobility in the country.
With this initiative, Edesur Dominicana becomes the first state-owned electricity distribution company to integrate with Evergo for the massive development of charging stations in Santo Domingo and the southern region of the country, contributing with efficient, transparent, and sustainable solutions for all Your clients.
“With the installation of this first Evergo charging station, we reaffirm our commitment to innovation and the integration of solutions that, in addition to providing financial protection, promote sustainable development to improve the lives of Dominicans. We will continue betting on electric mobility and on issues that represent well-being in environmental matters and for our customers”, said Milton Morrison, general manager of Edesur Dominicana.
On his side, Roberto Herrera, country manager of InterEnergy Group, InterEnergy Systems Dominicana parent company that operates the Evergo platform, affirmed “there are already more than 230 stations that are strategically located throughout the national territory, constituting a key step for the development of state-of-the-art charging infrastructure in the country. With the support of our alliances, we not only promote a more sustainable future, but we also help the Dominican Republic to position itself as a benchmark for electric mobility throughout the region”.
Mauricio Pulido, General Manager for the Dominican Republic of GB Energy-Texaco, highlighted that “with the inauguration of this new charger within the Texaco fuel station network, we reiterate our commitment to remain at the forefront and in constant innovation for the benefit of all our customers”.
The recently inaugurated station, located at the Texaco service station on Rómulo Betancourt Avenue, on the corner of Caonabo in the National District, has a Level 3 charger, known as “super-fast” or “fast charger”, which allows the full charge of a vehicle in less than an hour, a revolutionary quality in the electric mobility sector.
This is the first Evergo electric charger of the alliance signed by InterEnergy Systems and Edesur in early 2021, whose purpose is to promote and accelerate electric mobility in the Edesur concession area, contributing to InterEnergy Systems’ goal of reaching 500 stations of electric charging by the end of this year, in an unprecedented push for more sustainable mobility.
With the integration of this charging station for electric vehicles, and henceforth, a whole route of stations in the South zone, Edesur and InterEnergy Systems give an unprecedented boost to electric mobility, contributing to the commitment that the country has assumed before the Climate Summit and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
