The Executive Power promulgated the Air Services Agreement between the government of the Dominican Republic and that of the People’s Republic of China, the Dominican Presidency reported in a statement.
“The agreement recognizes the importance of air transport as a means of creating and promoting friendship, understanding and cooperation between both peoples, facilitating the expansion of international air transport opportunities”, he explains.
The presidential provision, of December 30th, 2022, orders that resolution 373-22, approved by the National Congress and signed on December 19, 2022, be published in the Official Gazette for its knowledge and execution.
The resolution was signed in Beijing, on November 2nd, 2018, the date on which Danilo Medina made a trip to the Asian country.
On that day, the then President Danilo Medina held a working meeting with his counterpart from the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, who were honorary witnesses in the signing of agreements in various areas for the benefit of both nations.
Among the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed, according to a statement from the Presidency at that time were: the Civil Aviation cooperation agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding for facilities for the export of Dominican tobacco to China.
In May 2018, the governments of the Dominican Republic and the People’s Republic of China announced the establishment of diplomatic relations, which in turn annulled a bond of more than 75 years between Taiwan and the Dominican State.
