Dominican president guarantees budget for border wall with Haiti

President Luis Abinader reported today that the wall on the border already has its budget guaranteed and that it is only awaiting its bidding and planning.
“The wall is in planning, you know that this is a process that you have to go through, of presentation and bidding, and then the best proposal is determined, but that already has a guaranteed budget”, said Abinader at the opening the General Military Brigade Fortress Bartolomé Mejía of the Dominican Republic Army, located in the San José de las Matas.
The Head of State reported that the reopening of the fortress has special importance in San José de las Matas, since “it is a place that needed these facilities because it handles strategic aspects for the security of our country.”
In turn, he stressed that despite receiving Armed Forces with a number of limitations, their needs are already being attended to, reinforced, and supported to offer the Army of the Dominican Republic, the Air Force, and the Dominican Navy the conditions that they need to defend our country.
The President assured that, with the plans, savings, and efforts carried out, they will improve and get equipment.
“The important thing is that there is an excellent, prepared personnel, inspired by all the Armed Forces of our country, we have the most important thing which is a prepared, determined, trained, trained, educated human personnel who are aware of their enormous responsibility in our country ”, indicated the head of state.
Vaccination
Regarding the actions that the Government would take against companies that have failed to deliver the coronavirus vaccines on time, he emphasized that this is a somewhat sensitive issue so that in due course they will analyze what the Government will do, since not only the Dominican Republic has been breached, but many countries.
Abinader argued that the Government has signed contracts with other suppliers, in order to give continuity to the vaccination program that has been started.
“This is a very sensitive issue, because not only have they failed to comply with the Dominican government, they have failed to comply with many governments, but we will analyze in due course what to do”, he said.
At the military brigade, the president also called on citizens to file a complaint if they have knowledge about administrative corruption. He assures that the country has an independent justice that will act and establish responsibilities with those responsible.
“Anyone who has any act and proof of any action in any order here is punished, here the one who pays it, now the one who denounces that he is responsible and brings him to justice, that justice is going to act in an independent”, he emphasized.
