Dominican government and Medical Association throw white smoke
After almost three hours of debate, the Dominican Republic government and the Dominican Medical College (CMD) agreed on several points last night, including the appointment of a new volunteer at the Padre Billini Hospital, which is scheduled to open on August 4.
The parties informed that the volunteering will be from the community itself and that in the next few days a new decree will be issued with the names.
They also agreed that the Luis Eduardo Aybar Hospital will open gradually.
In relation to the Salvador B. Gautier, the Government and the CMD will begin to intervene from next Monday in repair and improvement of services.

They also reported that in the next 15 days, a thousand medical positions will be published throughout the country in order to reduce the deficit of doctors, specialists and generals, who will be appointed through competitive examinations.
Senén Caba, president of the CMD, specified that cancellations and transfers that are not justified will also be suspended.
Regarding the issue of retirees and pensioners, next Wednesday the Government and doctors will meet with the head of that institution to discuss the issue.
The meeting between the Government and doctors was headed by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, and was attended by members of the Association of Owners of Private Clinics and Hospitals (Andeclip); Mario Lama, director of the National Health Service (SNS); Adolfo Pérez, Promise/Cal; Pablo Ulloa, director of the Ombudsman, among other people.”
