Santo Domingo. – Dominican President Luis Abinader, visited the La Yuca on Sunday afternoon, in the Los Ríos sector of the National District, where several houses collapsed because of the heavy rain caused by tropical storm Laura.
At the site, Abinader indicated that the Emergency Operations Center (COE) is already carrying out a survey of the affected houses, which will be repaired.
The president sent his condolences to the families of the three victims who died from the effects of the storm.
“We have been monitoring storm Laura since Thursday. All government institutions, both prevention, and solution are acting”, said Abinader.
“We bring hope to the Los Ríos sector, in the National District, through help to the residents affected by the overflow of the La Yuca, due to the rains caused by the storm Laura”, he stated on a Twitter message.

Major General Edward Sánchez González, director of the National Police; Carolina Mejía, mayor of the Republic; Fellito Suberví, director of the Santo Domingo Sewer Aqueduct Corporation and officials from the Ministry of Public Works and Communications walked with the president around the premises of the affected neighborhoods.
