World Association of Chefs certifies the PUCMM tourism school

The School of Tourism and Gastronomy of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, PUCMM, obtained the international certification of the World Association of Chefs Societies.

The certification is the first granted in the Dominican Republic by said institution, recognized for the quality of its graduates and for having study programs adapted to the needs of the local and international labor market.

Ina Percival, director of the School of Tourism and Gastronomy of the Santo Domingo campus, said this certification endorses the standards of quality and excellence that PUCMM wants to transmit.

“From our academy, we want to tell the world that we are here, reaching out to them in some way to learn and insert new and better opportunities for our students, so that they have the support of the university, even as graduates,” said Percival.

Professor Priscila Zacarías, director of the School of Tourism and Gastronomy of the Santiago campus, explained that they are currently working on renewing the study programs.

Also present from PUCMM were Dr. Iluminada Severino, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Harry Linzmayer, Continental director of Worldchefs and a representation of hotel students from the Santiago and Santo Domingo campus.
